Informazioni tesi
Description: the aim of the research is to explore a specific industry within the mobility sector (e.g., automotive, aviation) and to evaluate its transition to a novel propulsion source (e.g., hydrogen, biofuels, electric). These industries face similar challenges, particularly the “chicken and egg” dilemma concerning the adoption process. Specifically, the research seeks to address the question: how can a new propulsion source enter the market without a sizable supporting infrastructure, and how can the network of infrastructure develop without the diffusion of said propulsion source? To break this cycle, the research will look at the chosen industry to assess the inner functioning of the relationship between vehicles, fuel, and infrastructure.
Objectives: the objective is to advance the understanding of the sustainable fuel transition in the mobility sector and to extract best practices, patterns, lessons learnt and more.
Methodology: the approach consists in a review of the scientific literature accompanied by a few expert interviews with professionals from the automotive or aviation industries. The intention is to reach out experts involved in the design, production, and management of fuel, vehicles and infrastructure.
