This thesis focuses on the reasons behind the decreasing level of circularity. The transition towards Circular Economy offers several benefits, still, it is characterized by several barriers and challenges. Recently, the level of circularity is decreasing and the thesis aims to focus on “failure cases” in order to grasp that factors that led to the failure of the implementation of circularity in that company. The thesis is based on a mixed methodology to review previous literature on this matter and, above all, interviews to collect real-world “failure cases”.
