Net Zero refers to achieving a balance between the amount of greenhouse gases (GHGs) emitted into the atmosphere and the amount removed. The goal is to reduce emissions as much as possible and offset any remaining emissions through carbon removal initiatives, such as reforestation, carbon capture technologies, or other sustainable practices. Decarbonizing supply chains is imperative to reduce emissions, combatting climate change, and fostering sustainability across industries.
Much research has focused on discussing Net Zero from a regulatory perspective. However, there is a lack of evidence on the specific skills, capabilities, and competencies required to achieve Net Zero at the individual, organizational, and supply chain levels. This thesis answers to this call using an exploratory research approach to understand the opinions from experts.
Method: literature review + expert interviews
Steps: 1. Narrative literature review on skills, capabilities and competences for supply chain decarbonization; 2. Expert interviews to key stakeholders; 3. Qualitative data analysis to understand skill needed and skill gaps.
Number of students: 1-2
