It is possible for 3 students to cooperate on reviewing existing literature on purchasing and supply chain management definitions, boundary of the subject and field of practice, and literature on the broader area of ​​identity. They are also encouraged to cooperate on methodology used for the dissertations. Individual students may also select a project and work independently.

Climate crisis, global pandemic, energy price rises, political instability, social division and dislocated populations are key examples of crises impacting the world. Concerns about shortages of food, clean water, vaccinations, and healthcare facilities have been expressed globally, turning attention to the response of supply chains, purchasing and supply, public procurement and logistics.

This project aims to identify key trends of importance for purchasing and supply chain management emphasized recently in the annual reports of the world’s biggest companies to develop a helicopter view of the major themes of concern. In so doing, it aims to contribute to the discourse on the developing identity of purchasing and supply chain management.
