The study of people mobility is going through a strong moment of growth and change. On the one hand, new travel habits and new workplaces have completely changed the current knowledge about mobility. On the other hand, the advent of new digital technologies has enabled a better understanding of how and why people move.

This thesis aims to investigate and understand current data collection methods used in the models to estimate mobility demand, which are subsequently used to define the transportation service offer.

A Systematic Literature Review is desired to identify the current methods and a subsequent critical analysis to identify their main characteristics. The output of this first phase will be used to conduct investigations with practitioners to understand their adoption.
