Kanban-based automatic inventory replenishment at Dalla Corte – Franke Group
Founded in 2001 and acquired by the Franke Group in 2019, Dalla Corte operates in one of the most design-driven and technically demanding niches in the global coffee industry. With 95% of revenues coming from abroad and production capacity planned to double by 2030, Dalla Corte is not just growing, it is accelerating; in order to sustain that growth, its operations need to evolve at the same pace.
This project tackles one of the most concrete and high-impact challenges in operations management: designing and implementing a Kanban-based automatic inventory replenishment system, a lean tool that can transform how a factory manages its materials, eliminates waste and builds a resilient supply chain.
The work is structured and demanding. You will start with a thorough current state analysis of the supply chain, then move into demand and requirements analysis, studying production volumes and material flows to understand where the system can have the greatest impact. From there, you will identify the right SKUs and suppliers to target and, finally, you will get to the implementation phase: negotiating with suppliers and actually deploying the system on the ground.
You will work under the direct guidance of the Operations Manager, alongside a young and hands-on team spanning Lean, Production, Procurement, Warehouse and Process Improvement. Flexibility, numerical attitude and a genuine Gemba spirit are prerequisites. So is an eye for sustainability; Dalla Corte has already achieved Carbon Neutral status on two of its flagship models through the PlaNet program and this mindset runs through everything they do.
If you want to learn operations by doing operations in a fast-growing and globally minded company, this is the right project.
