Human-centered concepts are developed for operations systems in manufacturing and logistics. Whereas system interaction is critical in modern operations and supply chain management due to the increasing use of automated and digital systems (I40), the human factor is increasing in importance in terms of operational performance and business success. The I50 concept by the European Commission entails challenges for digital transformation and AI business models, conceptualizing the human factor as the bottleneck. A transformation from European to local level shall be applied in the thesis work, mapping the challenges local firms might in I50 implementation.
