Digital platforms are increasingly becoming a key driver of competitive advantage in B2B procurement. Firms are

leveraging these technologies to enhance efficiency, streamline processes, and gain strategic benefits. The adoption

of digital platforms allows companies to refine their supplier selection, optimize make-or-buy decisions, and improve

overall procurement performances. They facilitate better data analytics, real-time information sharing, and improved

collaboration with suppliers, which are crucial for sustaining a competitive position. Moreover, these platforms help

firms reduce costs, increase transparency, and enhance decision-making capabilities. The role of the firm is also

evolving with the integration of digital platforms. Companies must develop new competencies and adapt their

organizational structures to effectively harness these technologies. This includes investing in digital skills, fostering a

culture of continuous improvement, and aligning business strategies with digital transformation goals. Despite the

clear advantages, many firms have yet to fully exploit the potential of digital platforms in B2B procurement. The

research aims to explore how companies can better integrate these technologies to strengthen their competitive

advantage and redefine their role in the supply chain. By examining current practices and future opportunities, the

study seeks to provide insights and strategic frameworks that can guide firms in leveraging digital platforms for

sustained competitive success. This thesis aims at investigating the various stakeholders involved, and how

companies can access a wider pool of expertise, materials, and innovations, enhancing their strategic flexibility and

responsiveness in the adoption and exploitation of digital procurement platform.
