This dissertation examines the measurement of Circular Economy (CE) practices at the macro level, focusing on national and global scales. The research investigates the key indicators and frameworks used to evaluate CE implementation across countries, regions, cities and large economies, considering factors such as resource efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainability goals. By analyzing existing metrics and frameworks, the study aims to identify best practices and gaps in measuring circularity at a broader level. The thesis also explores how governments and international organizations perform and can improve data collection and reporting to better assess progress towards a circular and sustainable global economy.
