This thesis proposal aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the evolution and current state of web3 through a systematic literature review. The primary goal is to define the appropriate theoretical lenses for interpreting the topic and analyzing academic articles and research papers accordingly to explore the advancements, challenges, and potential implications of web3.

The study will be conducted in collaboration with the Blockchain & Web3 Observatory, which will provide the necessary support throughout the research process.
