The business related to educational technology has steadily increased over time, attracting the big players of technology as well as innovative start-ups. These companies offer to schools and universities a wide range of products and services, which may be clustered according to the type of activities supported, i.e. support and core activities (teaching, research and outreach). Despite the relevance of the business area, a systematic analysis of the field is currently missing. The thesis will fill this gap by focusing on the following activities:

• Analysing the context of educational technology and the literature available on the topic
• Collecting data about the companies in the field and the main set of products and services offered to schools and universities
• Building a map of the market of educational technology by classifying the features of the companies and the categories of educational activities mostly targeted
