This dissertation explores the role of family offices’ patient capital in addressing grand challenges, specifically through investments in life sciences. Family offices, which manage the wealth of high-net-worth families, are uniquely positioned to deploy patient capital—long-term, strategic investments seeking financial and societal returns. The project adopts a quantitative approach, employing econometric analysis, data will be collected from investment databases, company financials, and performance reports of startups that have received investments from family offices.
