Who is the Management Engineer?

Since its conception, in 1982, the management and production engineer (hereafter, simply referred to as management engineer) has been perceived as the engineer of change and innovation. To some extent, the management engineer is similar to the classical engineer, because he is responsible for creatively using scientific principles and methods to design and manage systems. The management engineer works in complex contexts, where technological, economic, human, organizational and financial variables closely interact.

Hence, the skills profile of the management engineer has been shaped by translating the already existing professional profile of the manager-engineer into a clearly defined and consistent university curriculum.

Why Management Engineering?
