SMILE (Smart Manufacturing, Innovation, Learning-labs and Entrepreneurship) is an innovative project supported by European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) HEI initiative (Innovation Capacity Building for Higher Education) since June 2022, under the Grant Agreement, HEI GA No 10044. SMILE project is supported by EIT Raw Material (DE), and it is coordinated by the Hamburg University of Technology (DE), with the collaboration of Politecnico di Milano (IT), Aalborg University (DK), Gellify (IT), Synergeticon (DE), Ternopil Ivan Puluj National Technical University (U), and the Non-governmental organization Agency of European innovations (U).
The SMILE Consortium is happy to announce the launch of the first SMILE Hackathon, an on line asynchronous competition open to all the students interested in manufacturing and its innovation!
The SMILE Hackathon is designed to foster creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while addressing real-world issues faced by the manufacturing industry. The SMILE Hackathon is a groundbreaking virtual event at the forefront of technological advancement and industrial progress. It serves as a dynamic platform that bridges the gap between academia and industry, uniting a diverse group of participants, including students, forward-thinking innovators, and seasoned industry professionals.
The first SMILE Hackathon is organized by Politecnico di Milano, in collaboration with SMILE partners and many European companies. Students could attend the SMILE Hackathon in teams (min 2 max 5 participants). Winning teams will be rewarded with tangible prizes, which may include economic awards (up to 500 €), internship opportunities with sponsoring companies, and certificates of achievement.
Students will be asked to provide their solution to real challenges, submitted by international companies. Solutions should be submitted in the form of a video-pitch, of max 7 minutes. Teams should be registered online (www.smile-hackathon.eu) by November 27, 2023. The SMILE Hackathon will close by December 1, 2023.
