The thesis will be developed in collaboration with Irbema. Irbema is a company belonging to an international group that provides and integrates digital technology systems for different markets, mainly health and industry. As part of its innovation plan, the company is interesting in exploring the opportunities of IoT and other digital technologies. The thesis will also be supervised by the Internet of Things observatory (www.osservatori.net). For additional information, please write to giulio.salvadori@polimi.it, attaching your resume. The expected duration of the thesis is 6 months.
The thesis attempts to understand the current and future value of new technologies such as IoT (Internet of Things) and digital platforms (including software and hardware devices) to support nursing and patient care both in hospital, in residential care homes, or even in patients’ houses. In the first phase, literature analysis and market research should be performed to understand the state-of-the art and the main opportunities. Then, the second phase attempts to define a viable business model using available solutions for the company Irbema, and the possibility (to be verified) to apply the solution in a pilot case. The third part will include an analysis of the expected trends in terms of services and technologies.
