Background:
Around ten million electric cars were on the world’s roads in 2020. The availability of electric vehicle models expanded, and the number of electric vehicles is continuously growing, even if the supportive infrastructure has to be still enhanced and fostered. By exploiting the charging station at home and at work, e-car owners can hold on without being re-charged on their way. However, there are some barriers that restrain further diffusion of e-cars, such as price, batteries costs, rides in the rural areas, etc
Thesis goals:
The main goal of the thesis is to validate scenarios for the diffusion of electric cars in different contexts (urban vs rural, taxi / car sharing vs own car and others)
Thus, the research objectives could be the following:
- Evaluating different strategic scenarios of e-car diffusion
- Investigating the variables impacting the choice of consumer
- Analysing different stakeholders’ impact on e-cars diffusion
- Calculating the time needed to have a fleet of autonomous e-taxis
- Exploring the future development of e-car sector (i.e. autonomous e-car).
