Zero Defect Manufacturing is a holistic approach for ensuring both process and product quality by reducing defects through corrective, preventive, and predictive techniques, using mainly data-driven technologies and guaranteeing that no defective products leave the production site and reach the customer, aiming at higher manufacturing sustainability.
The current thesis aims to ideate, develop and valiate a Readiness Assessment Model for Zero Defect Manufacturing, which can be used to evalaute how ready a manufacturing company is to implement Zero Defect Manufacturing.
To this end, the following activities will be undertaken: 1) analysis of the state of the art on Zero Defect Manufacturing as well as Readisess/Maturity Assessment Models; 2) development of new model and tool for measuring the level of readiness of manufacturing systems to implementat Zero Defect Manufacturing; 3) application and validation with manufacturing companies.
